  • The amount of experience you require will vary for the type of tour you request. However best be assured there is a tour type available for most people of all levels of experience and fitness. Feel free to inquire personally to receive more information on what type of tour may best suit your level of fitness or endeavours.

    Generally Small Group Tours fall into the moderate bracket level of walking. Some can be of an easier level. Each tour will have an outline of its level of difficulty.

    Scenic Tours are usually of easiest experience level and are appropriate for all levels of experience. These require less walking and more garnered towards letting the transport take you to multiple places.

    Larger Group Tours usually require moderate to more experience and require own transport and self-sufficiency in travel and hike. Participants are required to be responsible for their own safety, fitness and judgement.

  • The bare essentials required to go on a hike will depend the hike you go on. Closed sturdy shoes (preferably hiking boots), along with comfortable clothing, enough food and water for your walk are some of the most simple important things required. It is impossible to predict exactly how a hike will go no matter how well you know the walk so it is always good to pack a little more food and water than you may require.

  • This will fall under the private custom tour bookings. Hikeandseek may be able to accommodate another day not mentioned on the current schedule or one of the dates a tour falls upon if there have not yet been any bookings made for that day. Please enquire for more information.

  • Participants are encouraged to read the descriptions thoroughly and contact Hikeandseek if unsure of these details. Each tour is different and some tours may require you to prepare all consumable goods prior to the tour date and bring them with you.

  • Although not always the case, mobile reception will more often than not be unavailable on walks and between locations. People are advised to remember this in case they are expecting to use their phone during the trip.

  • Hikeandseek will give careful instructions at all times to minimize the risk of getting lost. Tour Routes will always have been travelled by Hikeandseek and well researched. Hikeandseek will take as much care as possible to prevent you from getting separated from the group and put your welfare first. As a participants you can do your bit to follow my directions whilst also looking out for and respecting those around you. Although very rare, there are emergency measures such as using the PLB to tackle adverse situations that may occur. Participants are advised to let at least one other individual not attending the event know of their whereabouts.

  • Tours will proceed in most weather conditions except storms, sustained heavy rain and/or winds. Hikeandseek will usually provide an update on weather twice before an event (1 week out and once a couple of days before the tour) to best outline weather details and advice on how best to prepare for the day.

  • Participants are encouraged to provide feedback and although not guaranteed, Hikeandseek can work to accommodate small changes in itinerary especially if this is something all of the participants on the day can unanimously agree on. The tour will go ahead as scheduled to the planned locations as long as one member of the tour party would like to follow the original itinerary.
